Nutricia Super Soluble Duocal Powdered Medical Food is an adaptable energy enhancer, providing fat and carbohydrate for increased caloric intake for children over the age of one year. Specifically developed for protein or electrolyte restricted diets. It is completely soluble in water, liquids and moist foods without altering the taste or texture of foods and beverages.

• Calorically dense, 1 scoop (5gm) provides 25 kcal
• Tolerance: unique dual energy source of fat and carbohydrate
• Osmolality (1:3 dilution) = 310 mOsm/kg
• Energy distribution:
  - Carbohydrate: 59% 
  - Fat (MCT 35% / LCT 65 %): 41% 
• Milk protein free
• 1 gram contributes approximately 0.93 mOsm when added to a solution
• PRSL of less than 0.017 mOsm/gm
• Indicated for:
  - Conditions where a high energy, low fluid, low electrolytes diet is indicated
  - Disorders of protein and amino acid metabolism 
  - Protein restricted diets 
  - Malabsorptive states 
  - Modular diets 
  - Catabolic states (e.g. burns, trauma, post-operative stress) 
  - Suitable for oral and tube feedings

More Information

• For Oral and Tube Feeding:
  - Measure the prescribed amount of Super Soluble Duocal Powder
  - Add powder to the required volume of liquid and/or soft food and stir continuously until the powder has dissolved
  - Unused foods mixed with Duocal Powder should be refrigerated and used within 24 hours 
  - Shake or stir immediately before serving
• Precaution:
  - Use only under strict medical supervision 
  - Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition 
  - Not for parenteral use
• Storage:
  - Store unopened can at room temperature 
  - Once opened, reseal can and store in a cool, dry place (not in a refrigerator) and use within one month
